Overview
Applying to FORGE is straightforward, but we want to make sure you submit the strongest application possible. This guide walks you through everything you need to know.
Each program has slightly different requirements, but the overall process is the same: apply online, wait for review, receive a decision, and begin onboarding if accepted.
Before You Apply
Take time to prepare before starting your application:
**Research the Program** - Make sure you understand what you're applying for. Read the program page thoroughly and check if you meet the basic requirements.
**Gather Information** - Each application asks for specific information. Have it ready: - Personal details (name, email, location) - Background information (school, experience) - Program-specific requirements (idea description, school details, etc.)
**Set Aside Time** - Don't rush your application. Find 30-60 minutes of uninterrupted time to complete it thoughtfully.
Pro Tips
- You can save your progress and return later
- Review your answers before submitting
- Be specific and detailed in your responses
Completing the Application
When filling out your application:
**Be Authentic** - We want to know the real you. Don't write what you think we want to hear; write what's true for you.
**Be Specific** - Vague answers don't help us understand you. Instead of "I want to help people," tell us exactly how and why.
**Be Complete** - Answer every question. Incomplete applications are much less likely to be accepted.
**Proofread** - Spelling and grammar matter. They show attention to detail and respect for the reader.
Warning
Submitting false information will result in immediate rejection and a permanent ban from FORGE programs.
After Submitting
Once you submit:
1. **Confirmation Email** - You'll receive an email confirming we got your application 2. **Review Period** - Our team reviews applications within 2-3 weeks 3. **Decision Email** - You'll be notified of our decision by email 4. **Dashboard Updates** - You can also check your status on your FORGE dashboard
During this time, there's nothing you need to do. We don't accept additional materials after submission, and contacting us won't speed up the review.
If You're Accepted
Congratulations! Here's what happens next:
• You'll receive a detailed onboarding email • You'll be added to relevant communication channels • You'll be assigned a point of contact or mentor • You'll receive access to program resources
**Important**: Respond to your acceptance email within 7 days or your spot may be given to someone else.
If You're Not Accepted
Rejection is not the end:
We receive many more applications than we can accept. Not being selected doesn't mean you're not good enough - it often means we simply didn't have space.
**You can reapply** - Wait at least 3 months, then submit a new application with updates on your progress.
**Keep building** - The best thing you can do is continue working on your goals. Many reapplicants are accepted after showing growth.
We don't provide detailed feedback on rejected applications due to volume, but the most common reasons are: - Incomplete or rushed applications - Not meeting basic program requirements - Limited capacity for the current cohort
